Warden Gorge Section
Please Note: You must use the get on at Barrasford as Chollerford Bridge is off limits during Tyne Tour weekend
Barrasford to Hexham trip’s highlight is Warden’s Gorge, a short 100m of bouncy grade 3, Levels are controlled by the Keider dam which releases regularly. Normally a release is scheduled for the weekend of the Tyne Tour however this cannot be guarenteed
Below is some information on how the Gorge can be run, however this is a rough guide and as with all rivers they are subject to natural changes. Rescue rock is manned during the tour weekend with a Safety & Rescue team to assist if needed, generally from 11am until safety sweep has finished their run around 3:30pm
Put in at Barrasford football ground, either above or below the grade 4 rapid
Note: Grade 4 above is a drop section
This section can be run straight down, above is an example for those that wish to break the run up a little
